London Explosions

Watching TV this morning, a News Bulletin came in during the adverts. Reports of a power surge on the London Underground. Sounded serious but there were no details on damage and injuries. Watched the rest of the programme until the next ad break, except it went straight to the News again and the programme was ended early. At this point reports of a bomb on a London bus. It’s late afternoon and there is still News coverage on that particular channel – I assume it has been like it all day. From what I can gather now there have been several explosions that occurred almost simultaneously across Central London. Many injured, some in a critical condition and others confirmed dead.

My thoughts are with those who are still being treated for injuries, family and friends waiting for news of loved ones and to the emergency and transport service workers who have worked hard all day trying to sort out this situation as best they can.

I live nowhere near London. I’ve only been there once in my life. But this doesn’t stop this incident making me feel deeply saddened for those victims involved, and angry that anyone could do this (however right they feel their cause is). There are no excuses. I can understand that people want to make a stand and fight for what they believe in, but this is not the way.

This is a sad day, indeed.

What scares me is that one of the bombs was on a train that we went on when we were down in London.

Maybe, I am not making sense… I mean when we were in London we travelled from line (Piccadilly) on a Thursday morning. And you know how overactive my mind is…

Everytime it comes on the news I break down crying.
