Better late than never…

Firstly, I know I said I’d update every week or so but real life temporarily got in the way of that. I won’t take up Flopsy’s blog with the details but lets just say it’s been tough finding the time or energy to update. My apologies but I’ll try and post at least more frequently from now on!

Anyway, firstly I have to start by saying I’ve had Flopsy just over two months now and he’s definitely growing and feeling heavier (although that’s no surprise considering the amount of food he eats!). He also now has a few toys to play with as I’ve read on many a website that rabbits need to keep their mind busy.

There’s a ball which he rolls around to try and get food out of – he seems to be getting the hang of it now as it’s more or less empty whenever I go to fill it back up again. I wonder if he knows the food is in there or if he just likes pushing it around and notices he has more food in his hutch? Regardless, the other day I was watching him play and he somehow managed to put his ball in his empty bowl. Maybe he was trying to give me a hint!

He also has a toy corn on the cob which rattles when you shake it. Apparently rabbits like to toss things around and that’s the purpose of this toy – he’s certaintly taken to it anyway! Everytime I look it’s in a different place.

I’ve only taken one picture since I last posted and that’s this one:

Flopsy and Buttons, 1st February 2006
Flopsy inbetween the legs of my sister’s dog, Buttons

The story behind this picture is that Flopsy was jumping around and when he’d calmed down Buttons came over to him and sat over him, in a protective way. I thought it would make a great picture and grabbed my phone to take one. Unfortunately for me, Buttons decided at that moment she wanted to move and I got the picture you see. It didn’t turn out exactly as I’d planned, but it shows how close they are which I think is very sweet. Anyway, that’s all for now. Many thanks to all who took the time to read and I’ll try and update soon.
