Anniversary!

Monday, January 23rd, 2006

I’ve had Flopsy just over a month now. No new pictures (the last few I’ve taken haven’t been good enough to publish) but I can say that he’s definitely bigger than when I got him. He’s still relatively small but he has lovely long ears and huge back feet! He’s as adorable as ever too!I’ve discovered that his favourite food is most certainly lettuce – he loves the stuff! For a while I was convinced that he preferred carrots but not even that destracts him when he has a lettuce leaf to chomp through!

Anyway that’s all for now. Hopefully next time I get around to updating I’ll have a few pictures good enough to show off.

P.S – He gives the best cuddles!

Ouch…

Time for a quick update about Flopsy! No pictures unfortunately, although I expect I’ll take more in the next few days. And now for a few observations about everyone’s favourite bunny! First of all, he has different coloured front feet compared to his back feet. His front feet are a bright orange colour, and his back ones are more of a light orange shade. I’d have thought they’d all be the same, but there you go.

Also, Flopsy has sharp little claws. How do I know this? I know this because he’s used them on me! I have a few cuts and they stung a bit at the time but I think it was more of a shock than anything. The thing is he’s a very inquisitive little bunny so when I come to put fresh bedding and food in his hutch he comes up to me and puts his little front paws on my hand, as if to see what I’m doing and that’s how I end up getting the odd scratch here and there.

I’m sure he’s grown a bit since I got him – I should have measured or weighed him but I never got around to it. He does look a little bigger and feels a bit heavier though, although he’s still a very small bunny.

Well that’s all for now. I’ll try to update very soon with more news. Thanks for reading so far!

I’ve been planning to take this picture for a while now but obviously I couldn’t while I didn’t have my charger.

Another year, another blog entry

Well time for an update I think! Although I’ve been a while in updating you all on his progress that’s not to say that anything is wrong with Flopsy – he is still in good health and I still think he’s the cutest! The reason for my lack of updates is that I’ve been too busy looking after him and working on other parts of my website to update here every day. I intend to keep posting though on here from now on at least once a week.

He likes me!

Thursday, December 22nd, 2005

It took a while before I could even get him out of his hutch today. He seems to like it in there so much he didn’t want to come out! I suppose that’s a good thing though. Eventually he came out to say hello. He doesn’t like being picked up or put down, but I think he’s a little nervous of being dropped because he’s fine as soon as he’s reached his destination.Today he sat in my lap and, for quite a long time, licked my hand. I like to think it means he approves of me. He also fell asleep a few times while I was stroking him. He’s a very well tempered bunny I’m pleased to say.

I have a pet bunny! Bunny Smiley

I don’t really want to give too much away here but if you’re interested in knowing more about him or would like to see a few pictures then please check out my site dedicated to Flopsy!

I’ll try to update fairly frequently. Enjoy!

Edit as of 7th, June 2006 – The website I gave will no longer go anywhere as I’ve updated Flopsy’s site to be combined with my own blog.

Edit as of 27th, June 2007 – Flopsy’s page is now back.

The first of many photographs!

After Flopsy’s first night here it was good to see him settled and looking happy. He spent a long time resting in my arms and watching TV with me. I was glad to see that he hasn’t suffered any trauma from the move as I can see he still has an appetite, thirst and general playfulness. I took two more pictures of him from either side this time and when he was sat in my lap. It was quite a while before I had a chance to upload to the computer. To my disappoint the first two didn’t take very well at all (partly due to the lighting and partly to do with the low resolution on my camera phone), but the 2nd two taken today did.

He’s the one…

Tuesday, December 20th, 2005

I first saw Flopsy (the name I had chosen in advance) looking very content in a corner of a cage, surrounded by guinea pigs which were literally piled on top of him. There was another rabbit in the cage, a female, that was completely white with a small caramel coloured patch on her back – but she wasn’t Flopsy. I almost didn’t see him tucked away like that, but then suddenly a guinea pig moved and he was there and I knew he was Flopsy. No, I didn’t need any convincing that I wanted him. I loved the tiny dark patches of fur along his back and near his tail, and around his eyes, and especially covering his ears. I loved the way he didn’t struggle when he was picked up. I loved his quiet nature, much like my own. I loved him instantly.

So we took him home in the box we were given. I was worried that, because it was raining, he’d be cold or the movement and sounds would frighten him, but I kept checking on him and he didn’t seem to be in any kind of distress. I was thankful to get him home though.

Gradually he was introduced to his new home and surroundings. He was a little unsure when first picked up or put down but seemed to immediately settle. I was happy to see he liked the new space he’d found in his new hutch. It had been a big adventure for this little bunny and, after taking two pictures, I left him on his own for the night.
