Belated Seasons Greetings!

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

For the past few months I’ve had a lot on my mind and I’ve been reluctant to put it into words, hence my sporadic blog posts as of late. Nonetheless, I do intend to write more soon… catching anyone up who is interested on my 2007 and what I hope for 2008.

Right now I just want to wish that everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, with all the best for the months to come. I myself had a great time celebrating with my parents and sister – and of course Flopsy.

Speaking of which, my lack of talking about him doesn’t mean that anything is wrong with the wascally wabbit, he is doing very well in fact. I have a lot of pictures to upload and post, but I’m looking for a camera lead so I can do that. Until then, take my word that he is okay and that his two year old Birthday came and went without a problem.

We’ll leave it at that for now but I’ll be posting soon! :-D

Staying here!

Friday, January 4th, 2008

After a lot of thought I decided to transfer webhosts. I did move my blog yesterday and got in touch with my host to have my account cancelled, however the owner of Honest Networks gave me the option to pay later rather than now as I’ve been a customer for a long time. Weighing up the pros and cons I would much prefer to stay where I am and use my other hosting account for unrelated projects.

I’m not sure what makes me more happy. Don’t get me wrong, I am extremely pleased that I don’t need to downgrade or that I won’t have to spend ages fixing broken links and getting people used to a new website address… But perhaps even better than that is the trust put into me by a relative stranger.

This is such a relief – one less thing to worry about for a little while.

Should I stay or should I go?

Friday, November 30th, 2007

My webspace is up for renewal in January, and I have a difficult decision to make. Do I stay with them or do I move what I have to my free (it comes with my paid email address at no extra charge) host?

Here is what I’ve facing starting with what my present host (Honest Networks) offers and then what my free host (Runbox Web Hosting) offers by comparison.

Honest Networks – Runbox Web Hosting
DirectAdmin Panel – cPanel
10,000MB space – 200MB space
150GB bandwidth – 4GB bandwidth
3 MySQL databases – 5 MySQL databases
$30 for 6 months – free with my email

They both have a lot of other features besides those listed, but these are the main ones I’m interested in and so have focused on.

In a way it seems obvious that I should stay with my present host because of the space and bandwidth I’m offered, but I really don’t use that much of it and, if I combined the free host with another free host (ironically owned by the company that own my present host) then I could get away with “sizing down”. I don’t really want to, but money is an issue right now. Then again, it’s a big inconvenience to haul everything from one place to another…

I guess I have a month to figure this out. *sigh*

My Celebrity Look-alikes

Friday, May 4th, 2007

Someone on a forum I go to linked to her MySpace and on it there was something very cool called “My Celebrity Look-alikes”. This is from a website called My Heritage which is mostly a genealogy search engine, a place to create family based pages and family trees but it can also match a picture of yours to several celebrities that have similar features which you can then post on your blog.

I decided to include my alikes here as I think it’s pretty fun to mess around with. I used one of my favourite and clearest pictures of me. Unfortunately you have to sign up but it’s free and I recommend it to anyone!

Happy Easter from Suzi & Flopsy!

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

We all know the story of the bunny that people only see once a year on Easter Sunday. Well, I caught Flopsy today with an Easter egg that he had just wrapped ready to give to me. What more proof does anyone need that Flopsy is in fact the Easter Bunny!?

Flopsy Food Fund!

Friday, April 6th, 2007

Hello good people of the Internet! If I could just have a moment of your time…

Earlier today Flopsy sat on my knee and looked up at me with a small frown on his little face. As anyone would I asked what was the matter, and he said to me (I’m paraphrasing of course);

All this time I’ve let you write about me and show my pictures to the world, and yet we’re doing it for nothing! Had I known this was the case I would have got into merchandising long ago. Do you realise how much you’re losing by not letting my adoring fans contribute to my well-being?

I had to admit, I’d not really thought about it but I suppose he does have a point. Why not get something back if people are willing to give it? This is still a free to view website, but should you wish to offer a small donation because you like a blog post or a section of my site then there is a donate button at the side of the page. Me and Flopsy will be extremely grateful!

Flopsy wishes me to add that he intends to take most of the proceeds to buy food, bedding and toys. He knows that without donations he will still get all these things, but if we ask then he will get more. ;)

Happy Birthday to me

Sunday, February 18th, 2007

Last Sunday was my birthday. I didn’t feel like saying anything at the time, but I want to say something on my blog to acknowledge that it happened. I’ll keep it brief.

Firstly, I really want to thank my family and friends. I really appreciate everything that was done to make it a special day for me. A few people in particular really made it wonderful for me and I am so grateful for that.

I’ve not really been feeling myself lately (a few personal problems and hormonal issues I won’t discuss any further), but I just wanted to say that. I didn’t want to leave it unsaid.

Thanks again.

Thanks Cat!

Saturday, February 10th, 2007

I just want to make a quick post to give a big thank you to my sister, Cat, for giving me an idea that you might notice I’ve implemented on my blog. She was telling me that when she writes a long post that she puts in a cut so you click a link to read more. I thought this was a great idea and thanks to her mentioning it I found out it’s a feature that my blog can also have, I’d just never noticed it before!

You may notice on some posts that at the bottom there is now a link you can click to read more of the blog entry. If you think the title and the introduction sound interesting then please feel free to read on (you can also see the full post by clicking reply and then scrolling up), however now it’s more of a choice to view the insane amount of text and pictures I may upload.

I won’t be doing this for all my posts though… Some I feel warrant it because they’re quite wordy, but ones with a few shortish paragraphs aren’t long enough for me to think it’s worth doing.

Anyway, I hope you all like the change and another huge thanks to the best sister in the world!

Lost in thought… part 2

Friday, January 26th, 2007

For some reason I’ve been thinking about an actor recently called Jonathan Brandis. I could write a huge list of all the TV shows, mini-series and films he starred in but he was most famous for his role in a sci-fi action drama in the mid 90s called SeaQuest (DSV / 2032). Unfortunately, he took his own life in November, 2003 – he was 27 years old.

Lost in thought… part 1

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

I was so tired when I went to bed last night, but I woke up early this morning and now can’t sleep again. I hate it when that happens. My mind has been all over the place lately. I guess I can’t settle when there are things I want to say.
